Airport Style

Hey guys!

Sorry I have not post since at least a week because I was busy with finals! But I'm back at it and so happy to be doing this travel edition posts!

Plane/Airport style seems so boring and meanless to most people, but I think it's so important mainly for the comfort and also for looking presentable when arriving! Here are some of my tricks to find the perfect balance between super comfy and civilized!

1.  JOGGERS are trendy right now, wear them! You can find so many pairs that are closer to your body and fits better than just regular joggers! I tend to get cold on a plane so I prefer joggers to leggings!

 Fit: perfect, Look: on point. Gap.

Looks like jeans but feels like joggers #winwin American Eagle Outfitters.

2. COMFY SHOES. Another trendy item lately? Slip-ons. Get your hands on a pair it's magical! You can also wear sneakers that also are super trendy, but a little less dressy than most of slip-ons (but you can run during your transit if needed)!

 Fab and comfy! Forever 21.
Can't go wrong with those right? Nike.

3. OVER SIZED SHIRT are comfy and just work well all day everyday. There is no need to explain this.

 Classic with a twist. American Eagle Outfitters.

Those mixed prints will make you outfit fun! Gap.

4. SWEATER! If you have a long cardigan or poncho, it also works well as a blanket and you can put it on when it's cold and tie it around your waist when it's warmer.

 Poncho: wearable blanket. Forever 21.
 Gap.
American Eagle Outfitters.

5. Wear darker colours! If you are non-stop eating (like me) you can stain your outfit and if you are wearing white that's all we gonna see.

6. Bring a scarf with you! Not only it will upgrade your outfit, it also double as a blanket! #genius

7. Bring (fuzzy) socks in your carry-on! They are not really chic so just put them on when you take your shoes off because yes, we all take our shoes off.

8. Avoid jewelry or belts when you are traveling because it's just longer at the customs and taking it off increases your risk of loosing it!

9. Keep it simple with makeup! If you are embracing the bare face: good for you girl, if not try to concentrate on your skin (BB cream and a bronzer are light and give you the good amount of natural yet good look. Avoid mascara or liner if you wanna sleep because you'll probs ruin it without realizing it. #naptime

10. If your girls don't need so much support you can give them (& yourself) a break by wearing a bralette or a sport's bra!

11. Stay hydrated and use your plane time to put on hand cream! Cause usually nobody got time for that!

Hope you all enjoyed those tips and please share yours in the comments below!

Travel Edition Posts

Hello guys!

Hope your spring is warmer than here!

I  have a little announcement: I'm making a travel edition posts for the next couple of weeks because I am excited for my upcoming getaway + I love prepping and organizing my travel stuff like a freak so you might find AT LEAST a tip or two for your next vacation! STAY TUNED!

I am starting this right away with some random tips!

You should buy your plane tickets between 49 and 57 days before leaving they're at their cheapest.

Avoid nail polish in your suitcase. Seriously.

Don't forget to bring a plastic bag for your dirty clothes or keep one from your shopping spree.

Pack your makeup in order that you put it on in the morning, you won't forget anything. Brilliant.

If you are traveling with family or friends, make a list of things you can split and everybody's luggages will be lighter and emptier ( space for new stuff). If you are travelling alone: get travel size everything!

Hope you enjoyed those little tips and be sure to leave yours below!
Don't forget to stay tuned cause there is so much more coming soon!

What's in my makeup bag? (travel edition)

I'm always overpacking when I travel because I'm telling myself "maybe I'll need this". It's accurate for clothes but also for makeup. Even that one eyeshadow I've never used seem to be necessary when I pack. Awkward right?

I have decided to show you exactly what's REALLY necessary and it might help me too when the time will come for me to pack! (win-win)!

I've separated items into 6 categories:

INSTRUMENTS

Brushes (foundation, powder, bronzer, eye shadow (2) & eyebrows);
Travel bottle set (shampoo, conditioner, pills & cream);
Clamp brow;
Eyelash curler;
Nail clipper;
Hair brush.
(all from Forever21 except the pink brush (Clinique) and the one in wood (Jean Coutu))

MAKEUP

Foundation;
Mattifying  powder;
Blush;
Bronzer;
Eyebrow pencil;
Eyeliner;
Mascara;
Eye illuminator;
Eyeshadow palette(s);
Lipstick.

CARE PRODUCTS

Hydrating face cream
Sunscreen;
Aftersun;
Lip balm;
Body cream;
Hand cream;
Perfume.

HYGIENE

Toothbrush;
Toothpaste;
Dental floss;
Deodorant;
Shampoo (empty bootle);
Shower gel(empty bootle);
Makeup remover;

PHARMACY

Tylenols;
Band-Aids;
Q-tips.

ADDITIONAL

Nail polish;
Remover.

(I've pretend that this trip was in a city and that you have to put makeup on to go dinner!)
(Ask for samples of your favourites products when you buy them, the size is perfect for traveling!)
(Prioritize multitask products (blush that works as eyeshadow and lipstick too!))

Monday Morning Thoughts

Waiting for an online order to arrive is the new "what will I get for Christmas" excitement. Even if you know what you ordered, you don't exactly know what it looks like until you unwrap it! And yes, it is wrapped, just like real presents (:

I ordered a new camera because mine died during my summer trip (yes, it worked before and died when I arrived there). But my bad luck gave me a reason to upgrade my picture game, so I did by buying the Fujifilm X-A1. I have not received it yet, but I can't wait!
www.fujifilm.ca

Until then I can't post outfits pictures because the only camera I have right now is on my IPhone and it is not the best quality.

Until then, you can still visit my blog for other posts, even if my finals are coming so quickly (duh).

Planning a Trip (Part I)

You may know that I am going to Chicago this summer, and I'm already planning! It's the second trip that I organize and I think I'm getting good at it (my friends also help a lot).

 New Orleans Casino

I decided to resume how to quickly plan a budget trip!

First, you have to choose your type of trip. (weekend, road trip, week...)
Then choose your destination(s).

Now you can start to research on the city (or cities) you are going to visit. I always try to find blogs from locals, they know better than anybody else where to go (not only the touristic places) and what to do (and where to eat for the foodies like me). Get to know what are the things you can't miss!

Now you have to establish your budget. How much you wanna spend? Of course some places are more expensive than others, for example, New Orleans is cheaper than Chicago. It can depend on the time of the year.

Choose your departure date!

Your transportation is also an important choice that can blow your budget. I try to use public transportation or walk because it is cheaper and it makes you discover so much more. Of course if you are planning a road trip or you are going to little places where there is no public transportation you need to have a car because cabs are expensive.

Then, you need to choose your hotel. If you have a car, you should consider hotels that are further because they usually are near half the price of the ones downtown. I prefer to put budget on a nice hotel even if it's not the cheapest one, but I know people that don't care where they are sleeping as long as there is a bed. You know yourself, be sure to make a decision you won't regret! On my past experience, there is always a way to find a nice hotel that's cheap. I use a website that compares all hotels by price, distance, stars and even by services! (www.hotels.com) Plus, try to find an hotel with continental breakfast, because a week of three time a day restaurants is really expensive!

 Yummy!

You now know, when you are leaving, where, what to do, where to stay, what's your transportation and how much you want to spend.

It was easy, right?

The Part II is coming soon lovelies.

Already planning my summer getaway

My mind is on Windy city!

It will be my first time there and I can't wait. (My Pinterest followers are definitely aware of that!) It's seems like a gorgeous city with a lot of history. That's what makes a destination special to me. Last summer I went to New Orleans and the atmosphere is difficult to describe, but you can feel all of it's history and all of it's past ambiance (New Orleans was (and still is) a party city, but in the 20st century, NOLA was headed by the mafia, so you can imagine all the crimes mixed with the prohibited activities create a heavy past).

Chicago, (which it's past is also related to the mafia) seems like a city I am going to love! Even if I like an interesting past, I love when a city is modern and as something new to offer!

If you live or ever visited Chicago and there is places I must go to, please let me know!
