Hope your spring is warmer than here!

I  have a little announcement: I'm making a travel edition posts for the next couple of weeks because I am excited for my upcoming getaway + I love prepping and organizing my travel stuff like a freak so you might find AT LEAST a tip or two for your next vacation! STAY TUNED!

I am starting this right away with some random tips!

You should buy your plane tickets between 49 and 57 days before leaving they're at their cheapest.

Avoid nail polish in your suitcase. Seriously.

Don't forget to bring a plastic bag for your dirty clothes or keep one from your shopping spree.

Pack your makeup in order that you put it on in the morning, you won't forget anything. Brilliant.

If you are traveling with family or friends, make a list of things you can split and everybody's luggages will be lighter and emptier ( space for new stuff). If you are travelling alone: get travel size everything!

I mean, have you seen it? I'm probably not surprising you guys because I love this store but they get me, literally. I might spend a lot in a near future (really near future). I need to stop visiting J Crew's website. Really. I'll be ruined (in a really near future).

I've already passed an order... and I still have so many items in my bag (& wishlist). So this is a warning post people.

What's in my makeup bag? (travel edition)

I'm always overpacking when I travel because I'm telling myself "maybe I'll need this". It's accurate for clothes but also for makeup. Even that one eyeshadow I've never used seem to be necessary when I pack. Awkward right?

I have decided to show you exactly what's REALLY necessary and it might help me too when the time will come for me to pack! (win-win)!

I've separated items into 6 categories:

Is grey the new black?

Now that my finals are done and it's almost Christmas, I wanna dress pretty and comfy. I'm probably crazy, but when clothes are grey, they seem way ore comfortable than when they are any other colors.

Until chic Christmas outfits, I'm wearing all grey outfits and I feel inspired by this neutral yet trendy color!

Do you love grey as much as I do?

It's that time of the year

I received my JCrew catalog weeks ago but I was studying so I waited until now to open it (No distractions please). But I just did and I wanted to share my wishlist with you!

I love JCrew because they are not afraid of edgy and they use so many different quality fabrics! It's so rare nowadays! And it's not about the price, just think about Anthropologie! I love that boutique but sincerely you pay for the style and the name because their clothes are made of polyester and cotton, and their shoes are faux leather (plastic). That does not mean it's bad, I'm guilty of buying there too, it's just that I feel so much better when I find a expensive piece of clothing that I love and that is made of noble materials. And that is usually the case at JCrew.

That being said, I pretty much have the JCrew style, which is preppy and trendy with an edgy twist to it. So when I receive a catalog I know exactly I'll end up broke.

This sweater will be perfect with a slim denim, but I'll probably get an other color!

This will dress anything! (There is a bracelet too...)

The 3 C's rule: Comfy, Colorful & Chic!

I want this coat so bad! I have no idea which color should I get because every single one is beautiful.

Fabrics of the season

I'm obsessed with mixing textures in my outfits so fabrics are really important to me. It is something I care about when I buy clothes. I think that a good fabric make a piece of clothing so much more interesting and fancy. That does not mean you can't wear polyester, that just mean you have to choose your pieces carefully! (Polyester is super resistant and easy to maintain!)

That being said, this season it's all about feathers, sequins, faux fur, velvet and neoprene.

All of these are so festive and nice to incorporate to your holidays looks!

White Winter

I love the idea of a all white outfit this season! It's the color that upgrade an outfit to a fancy level, and the monochrome version just makes it even more fabulous. For Christmas, I imagine myself wearing a white jumpsuit with silver heels and jewelry (I just need to find this in a store... #nothappening). If you are like me, I create an outfit in my head and I'm always sad that I can't find it in stores ):

Hopefully, there are a lot of things I find in stores and I get inspired by (maybe to much...) 

About the all white everything outfit, I love that fashion has become a world of freedom that as no rules such as "no white after labour day". I'm not a fan of being told what to do, especially when it's about what to wear. Plus, white is the color of the snow, which makes it the color of winter right?

For this season white outfits, I usually use pieces with more "winterish" fabrics like wool. The secret to a fabulous monochrome outfit is mixing the fabrics, so mixing white denim and a white wool sweater is hot, but wearing a white polyester shirt with a white polyester skirt is not.

That being said, what do you think of white during this freezing season?

Of course I'm a huge fan of the all white outfit during summer (it's always better with a tan... #canadianproblems) and I usually wear it with one or two bright accessories!

Here's the trick:

SUMMER: white clothes + turquoise or coral or yellow accessories

WINTER: white clothes + burgundy or navy or green accessories

Black + white = all year long (all life long)

I recommend not to buy pants or shoes because it is so difficult to find the good size and it's always different from one label to another.
