Travel Edition Posts

Hello guys!

Hope your spring is warmer than here!

I  have a little announcement: I'm making a travel edition posts for the next couple of weeks because I am excited for my upcoming getaway + I love prepping and organizing my travel stuff like a freak so you might find AT LEAST a tip or two for your next vacation! STAY TUNED!

I am starting this right away with some random tips!

You should buy your plane tickets between 49 and 57 days before leaving they're at their cheapest.

Avoid nail polish in your suitcase. Seriously.

Don't forget to bring a plastic bag for your dirty clothes or keep one from your shopping spree.

Pack your makeup in order that you put it on in the morning, you won't forget anything. Brilliant.

If you are traveling with family or friends, make a list of things you can split and everybody's luggages will be lighter and emptier ( space for new stuff). If you are travelling alone: get travel size everything!

Hope you enjoyed those little tips and be sure to leave yours below!
Don't forget to stay tuned cause there is so much more coming soon!

Thanks for reading!

P A N T S !

I am the kind of person who hates to try on jeans and pants for 2 particular reasons:

1 - It pretty much never fits.
2 - I'm lazy (especially during winter time with boots, socks and pants).

I'm usually in need of pants because I never try them on so I never buy any. If you've followed my blog you may have noticed that I don't post a lot of pants.

That is about to change since I've found a lot lately and I wanted to share since I am pretty sure I'm not the only one having a hard time finding jeans/pants that fit.

American Eagle Outfitters have the best variety of sizes, lengths and styles EVER (especially on their website). It goes from 00 to 18 and from short to extra long. You are kind of sure to find something that fits perfectly. Also, they often have promotions up to 40% off, so you should definitely check that  out.

 The comfiest jeans ever. I wear them all day everyday.

 Those boyfriend destroyed jeans are next on my list.

 Can't quite explain why I like those but I do.

They are the only high-waisted jeans that fits me (AMAZING).

GAP is also a classic with pants and jeans even if it's made a little big. I've noticed it's more true to sizes recently (YAY). I probs don't have to tell you that they are unbreakable and they are going to go out of style before they become unwearable. They also are promoted often so keep an eye on their website!

 WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT.

 The wash is just amazing.

You can feel the softness from the picture (WIN).

Thanks for reading! Let me know what are your favorite places to buy pants!
(All the pictures are from the stores websites.)

Yellow Wishlist

If you read my blog, you know I'm obsessed with yellow, also you know I predicted that it would be one of the top colours this spring/summer. And if you did a little bit of shopping, you know I was right! YAAAAAAAAS.

Anyway here is my all yellow wishlist that makes me a little more courageous and patient until summer time (hopefully).

 This yellow sweater is from H&M and it fits perfectly.

 That cute little purse from Gap is a go-to for all those summer nights (sigh)

 That shirt -also from Gap- is perfect to add some colour for any outfit.

 That JCREW vest is all perfect and add that much colour for those colder spring mornings.

This is from JCREW and it's so cute.

What is your colour for this upcoming summer?
Thank you for reading and have a nice week!

Pastel Passion

It seems that pastels are in this spring/summer again and that is pretty cool. I'm not the biggest fan of pastel colours but I do like pastel details. Who did not bought a mint nail polish in the past two years?   Guilty. My favourite pastel colour lately is baby blue. I feel like it is so refreshing and it goes with pretty much anything. Other blue hues? Yes. Opposites colours like yellow or mandarine? Yes. Black and white? Of course. Nudes? YEEEEEES (and it's gorgeous!).

Surprisingly, I have been doing some online (and real life) shopping to find the perfect spring pastel accessories and clothes and I've found some awesome stuff.

 This Panama Hat is from JCrew.

 This faux leather jacket from Ann Taylor (it's pricy tho).

 This blouse is from LOFT.

 Those elastics are also from LOFT.

 This nail polish is from Forever 21 (and they have so many other hues)!

This mint bucket bag is from JCrew and I can't get over it.

Finally, this t-shirt (also from JCrew) I got it and I love it (+ it's on sale).

Hope you enjoyed this!

And The Best Spring Collection Award Goes To

JCREW!

I mean, have you seen it? I'm probably not surprising you guys because I love this store but they get me, literally. I might spend a lot in a near future (really near future). I need to stop visiting J Crew's website. Really. I'll be ruined (in a really near future).

WHATEVS.

I've already passed an order... and I still have so many items in my bag (& wishlist). So this is a warning post people.

I'm curious to know if you recently bought anything at J Crew or elsewhere and what is it? Thanks for reading and let me know about your recent purchases!

(I might do a haul soon so if I receive my order it's gonna be a part of it!)

January Haul

Since Christmas, I am addicted to watching haul videos on YouTube. The concept of an haul is to show what you've recently bought. (It's not about showing off!) And since I'm so curious and I love fashion and shopping -obviously- I love to watch what people have purchased.

So it inspired me to do an written haul of my January purchases (because, why not?)

ZARA

I bought this denim jacket that was 69,95$ reduced to 39,90$. Since mine been stolen I was in need of one because it's my go-to vest during spring and summer time and it's perfect with maxi dresses and skirts which I wear all the time!

I bought this raincoat 29,90$ (don't know the original price cause the price tag is missing) and I'm so glad I got it! It's a boyish cut but it fits really well. My cat approves!

I saw this faux fur vest online for the first time months ago but they did not had it at my Zara. So I waited because it was 99,95$. The small got away fast and I still thought about it often but during the sales I waked in Zara and there was one small reduced to 59,90$. You guessed how it ended. But I'm not regretting any bucks I put into it because the faux fur colours and spots are just perfect and different from anything you find on the market right now. Plus the quality's great!

GAP

My parents pretty much insisted that I get this one because it was reduced to 60,00$ instead of 179,95$. And I loved that the exterior is in jersey but it still is a warm duvet winter coat. Plus it long enough to cover my butt. YAAAAAAAAASSS!

I was watching this one online for so long now! The original price was 188,00$ and I got it for 80,00$. (It's real leather so it explains the price!) It's not the type of clothing I usually buy and I can't explain why I really wanted it. The picture is from their website because I'm still waiting for it!

TARGET

I'm really sad that Target is closing in Canada and the makeup section is probably the one I'm gonna miss the most! But I got this lip crayon in Gramercy Park Plum and this eye primer from NewYorkColor for 3,99$ each. (I'm probs going to review those products in a future article + some no heat curlers I got too)

BATH & BODY WORKS

Not into that store as much as the haul youtubers I watched but still, I am OBSESSED with polar bears and I found those cute slippers for 5,00$ instead of 16,00$ and the little sleep mask that was 50% off of 16,00$.

We already are in the second month of the year (still really cold tho) and I'm excited as we get closer to spring/summer! Can't wait until March, it's like my mental limit to winter! Since then I'm having a February wish list to help me motivate during cold winter nights.

Thank you so much for reading! Please recommend this if you liked it!
Please comment below if you are interested in seeing more hauls!

What's in my makeup bag? (travel edition)

I'm always overpacking when I travel because I'm telling myself "maybe I'll need this". It's accurate for clothes but also for makeup. Even that one eyeshadow I've never used seem to be necessary when I pack. Awkward right?

I have decided to show you exactly what's REALLY necessary and it might help me too when the time will come for me to pack! (win-win)!

I've separated items into 6 categories:

INSTRUMENTS

Brushes (foundation, powder, bronzer, eye shadow (2) & eyebrows);
Travel bottle set (shampoo, conditioner, pills & cream);
Clamp brow;
Eyelash curler;
Nail clipper;
Hair brush.
(all from Forever21 except the pink brush (Clinique) and the one in wood (Jean Coutu))

MAKEUP

Foundation;
Mattifying  powder;
Blush;
Bronzer;
Eyebrow pencil;
Eyeliner;
Mascara;
Eye illuminator;
Eyeshadow palette(s);
Lipstick.

CARE PRODUCTS

Hydrating face cream
Sunscreen;
Aftersun;
Lip balm;
Body cream;
Hand cream;
Perfume.

HYGIENE

Toothbrush;
Toothpaste;
Dental floss;
Deodorant;
Shampoo (empty bootle);
Shower gel(empty bootle);
Makeup remover;

PHARMACY

Tylenols;
Band-Aids;
Q-tips.

ADDITIONAL

Nail polish;
Remover.

(I've pretend that this trip was in a city and that you have to put makeup on to go dinner!)
(Ask for samples of your favourites products when you buy them, the size is perfect for traveling!)
(Prioritize multitask products (blush that works as eyeshadow and lipstick too!))

Lord Mortdecai

I saw the movie «Mortdecai» yesterday and I loved it! All the critics are bad but it's usually a good sign for me! I hate pretentious critics that only likes authors movies, to me, if a movie is funny and entertaining it's worth it. Anyway, the characters have a awesome british preppy style and it inspired me so much!

I love preppy style so much (obviously)!

Here are some of the looks I found on Pinterest (follow me: Anne-Marie Pouliot)

 I'm dying. Every single thing in this outfit is perfect.

Nudes + gold = classy.

 Cliché but american preppy.

 My go-to outfit (except for the tall boots & jeans instead of leather pants)

 This coat is hot (and the pom pom too).

I have this vest and I wear it all the time.

& all Olivia Palermo's outfits (sigh).

Do you like preppy style?

Yellow

As I said in a previous post, my mind is in Miami, and it makes me wanna wear bold colours and fun summer prints. Instead, I'm wearing the warmest clothes I own for the coldest time of the year!

low and I'm pretty sure it's going to be one of the most popular shades this summer! Along with bright pink and cobalt blue.

Yellow is scary for a lot of people because it's not always flattering for the skin tone. Here are my top  tips to wear it and own it! No excuses to not wear it. AWESOME.

1. Wear it during summer time when your skin is darker. Easy right?

2. Add it to your outfit with a accessory like shoes, jewelry or handbag . Shoes & handbags are nowhere near your face, so it does not make you look tired or sick (win/win).

3. You can wear yellow as a part of a print mixed of other colours.

4. Play it casual with denim.

5. OWN IT. yellow on yellow on yellow. (just find the good shade for you).

6. Wear it under the belt, again, nowhere near your pale winter skin.

Hope I'm going to see everybody wearing yellow this spring & summer!
